My name is Concern Shoko from Zimbabwe, currently based in
South Africa. I am a product of WORLD LINKS project in Zimbabwe in a small
town of Gwanda.
Firstly i would like to say thank you for the initiative, it really has
changed my life in a way i never thought it would. I attended the World Links
training courses between 2001 and 2002 and after my Advanced level studies I
went on to study Computer Science at National University Of Science and
Technology,Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. I graduated in May 2007 and by then I was one
of the best programmers on the market and I am now Analyst Programmer at
Nedbank in Johhannesburg, South Africa.
Secondly and lastly, i would like to ask you in your capacity to help me
setup a centre similar to World Links centres in a small mining town of
Zvishavane, Zimbabwe. The town is about 250 miles from the capital Harare and
is technologically starved, with no internet connection for public access
even though the town is surrounded by vast Gold and Diamond mines. The young
students graduating from this town don't even know how to log onto a PC. Its
been my dream ever since I realized how World Links changes my career path.
