Why did students and teachers want to participate in WorLD's HIV/AIDS collaborative project?

For three main reasons:

1. To learn more about HIV/AIDS and the global epidemic
2. To help prevent the spread of HIV
3. To inform people about the virus and disease
   

Overall, the Four Educational Goals of the HIV/AIDS Collaborative Learning Project are for students to learn about:

1. Basic Facts on HIV/AIDS
2. The Importance of HIV/AIDS
3. Challenges to HIV/AIDS Prevention
4. Social Action
   

Within each goal, there are focus areas, and in Goals 3 and 4 each school designs a Prevention Activity and finally a Social Action Plan.
